Content Policy

This is a plain-language summary of how we handle reports about content on HOPSCOTCH. The full legal policy is being finalized with legal counsel and will replace this page. Version 2026-10-draft-1.

Hosts write their own listings and upload their own photos, and guests write their own reviews and messages. We don't read everything before it appears, so we rely on reports and on our own checks to find content that doesn't belong.

What You Can Report

  • Photos, text or logos that copy someone else's work without permission (copyright or trademark).
  • Private information, or pictures of a person, shared without consent.
  • False, misleading or defamatory statements, in a listing or a review.
  • A listing that is unsafe or isn't what it describes.
  • Anything inappropriate or against our rules.

How To Report

  • On any listing, choose Report This Listing at the bottom of the page and fill in the short form.
  • For anything else, such as a review or a message, email hello@hopscotch.fun with a link to the page and what the problem is.
  • If someone is in danger, call 911 first. Then tell us.

What We Do

  1. Every report goes to our team's inbox. We aim to look at it within two business days.
  2. We review the content and the report. We may ask you, or the host or reviewer, for more information.
  3. If the content breaks our rules or someone else's rights, we act. That can mean asking the host to change it, hiding a listing or a review, or removing it. We may act first and ask questions after if a report involves safety, privacy or a clear copy of someone else's work.
  4. We tell the person who reported it, and the host or reviewer, what we decided, when we can.
  5. We keep a record of the report and what we did.

Copyright And Trademark Reports

To help us act quickly on a copyright or trademark report, please include:

  • What the original work is and where it can be seen.
  • The link to the listing or page on HOPSCOTCH that uses it.
  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't allowed by the owner, the law or a license.
  • A statement that the information in your report is accurate, and that you are the owner or are allowed to act for the owner.

If we remove something because of a copyright or trademark report, we tell the host. If the host believes we made a mistake, they can write to us at hello@hopscotch.fun to explain, and we will look at it again.

Repeat Problems

Hosts or guests who repeatedly post content that breaks these rules or other people's rights can have their listings removed or their accounts suspended.

Reports Made In Bad Faith

Please report honestly. We may ignore or act on reports that are knowingly false or are used to harass someone.
